Evil Tree

Evil Tree
In a small town in Minnesota there was an old man named Ralph. He lived in a big house, with a big yard, and one small tree. He wanted the tree to grow bigger so he mixed up some green, glowing water that would help it grow bigger and faster. He watered the tree every day with the green water. Every day the tree seemed to be getting closer to the sidewalk, but he didn’t think anything of it, and just kept watering it every day.
Then one day when he watered it he saw that there was a bird caught in its branches. He helped the bird get out but when he went inside he had a cut on his hand that he had not seen before. He put a bandage on it and thought nothing of it. The next day there was a cat wrapped up in its branches. He tried to help it, but by the time he got it out it was dead. The tree got bigger and taller every day. More animals were getting caught in the tree.
One day when the man was in his house he suddenly heard an urgent knock at his door. Two kids had been walking home and now one of them needed his help.
"Can you help us!" said the boy.
"Sure what do you need?" asked the old man.
"Just come quickly!" said the boy.
He followed the boy out to the yard and saw that his friend’s foot was caught in the branch. The old man couldn’t get him out so he grabbed a saw to try and cut the branches off of the little boy. The saw wouldn’t cut the thick strong branches so the old man went and got a chain saw. He finally got the branch off.
"How did this happen?" asked the old man.
"We were trying to catch a butterfly when he tripped and the branch had wrapped around him" explained one of the boys.
Ralph stopped watering the tree with the green water but it wouldn’t stop growing.
The next day an old lady was out walking her dog was trapped in the tree’s branches. She was taken to the top of the tree so nobody knew about her and her dog. She was trapped all alone until a girl walking home from school was trapped also and brought to the top of the tree. They were both strangled by the trees branches. But this time the girl was all over the news as a missing person. So everyone was looking for her. The old man was afraid that he might go out to the tree and see that his tree had caught her. But he finally went and looked. He saw the girl and the old lady dead but he was afraid to tell anyone so he just kept it to himself.
There were more and more cases of people missing every day. He knew it was his tree. He turned on the news to see what the news reporter was saying about the missing people.
"This is a very mysterious case. Ten people have gone missing and no one knows where they could have gone. There are no clues." said the reporter.
Then there was a knock on the door. It was an FBI agent there to ask the old man some questions. He was shaking in fear that they would find out what had happened to the people.
"Have you seen any mysterious people around?" asked agent Smith.
"No I haven’t" said Ralph. His voice was shaking.
Agent Smith knew Ralph knew something so he began to ask harder questions.
"What did the people look like that you saw" said agent Smith.
"I told you I didn’t see anyone!" shouted Ralph.

Ralph’s guilty conscience drove him nuts. One day he couldn’t stand it any more so he let the evil tree capture him.
And to this day, in that small Minnesota town, no one knows where its citizens are disappearing to.
